A small room in a small town
My father did not start with a factory, a brand or a plan on paper. He started with a small space, a few threads and the belief that good work gets noticed, even from a place most people had never heard of.
The room was tight and the days were long. He sat at the loom himself, and every rug that left that room carried his name and his word.
The early years
Learning with our hands
Weavers and tufters joined him, one by one. Many of them learned the craft from their own fathers, and they brought that patience into the room. Soon it felt less like a workshop and more like a family sitting down to work together.
We learned that a rug is never only wool and cotton. It is months of attention, passed from hand to hand until it is ready to be walked on.
Growing the craft
One skill became every skill
Hand-tufted came first. Then hand-knotted, handloom, flat-weave and hand-hooked. Each craft asked for different hands, different patience and a different rhythm. We learned all of them, because our buyers asked for more than one kind of beauty.
Today the same family stands behind every type of rug we make.
Beyond the town
The first rug that crossed the sea
The day a rug left our town for another country, the whole workshop stopped to watch it go. Something our hands had made was going to a home we would never see. We felt proud and a little nervous, and we wanted the next one to be even better.
That feeling still decides how we inspect every rug before it ships.
Dubai
A new home for an old craft
From one room in Bhadohi to Dubai, a city where the world does business. We chose it because our rugs deserve a door that opens to every continent. The looms still stand where they always did, and our people still make every rug by hand.
